Description
58 Gin Distilled Sloe Gin
Made by 58 Gin, who are an eco-conscious, sustainably focused distillery which produces ward-winning spirits. In fact, they won the IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition) UK Gin Producer 2020 award for their range.
With this, their distilled sloe gin, they macerate foraged sloe berries for six months. These are then added to the distillation process itself. This creates a full-bodied berry kick in a gin that remains crystal clear.
The Sloe Berries they use come from from Kent, which is known as the "garden of england" in the south east of the UK. Limited edition due to the fact it is only produced once a year when the sloes are in season.
A truly unique spirit, and one which once tasted fast becomes essential for any real Gin lover. But don't be deceived, its as easily enjoyed in the summer as it is in the winter. Change up the mixers, and this is a very versatile drink
Along with the juniper (it is gin!), and the sloe berries, an additional 8 carefully selected botanicals are used. Most of these are familiar within the 58 Gin family. Coriander Seed, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Cubeb Pepper, Egyptian Lemon, Pink Grapefruit, Bergamot, and Vanilla, all blending perfectly to create something special.
The juniper, whilst present, takes a back seat with this gin. On the nose, ripe plum and damson, along with orange blossom and raspberry great you. The taste is truly delicious, with a hint of blackforest gateaux, deep cherry and fresh fruit with a light and gentle spiciness. The finish refreshes, with a smoothness which is enhanced with soft vanilla and a citrus feel.
Perfect Serve
Truly versatil, this is a gin which can be enjoyed year round.
For a refreshing summer drink, serve 50ml of the sloe gin with 150ml of Fever-Tree Lemonade or Fever-Tree Lemon Tonic. Garnish with a simple blackberry.
If you want to bring the spicy notes of the gin forward, or want a perfect drink for the colder months replace the lemonade with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale. Garnish with a thin slice of ginger.
