From the birthplace of corn comes a Mexican Whisky which is aiming to reinvent the corn whisky category. Abasolo is the first distillery in Mexico which is truly dedicated to whisky production.
Abasolo El Whisky De Mexico (The Whisky from Mexico) is distilled using 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle (kaka-wha-SINT-lay) corn. This corn has been cultivated and passed down for more than 200 generations of local farmers. It has a distinct, extraordinary flavour, which it imparts to the whisky.
Through the use of nixtamalisation (a 4,000 year old cooking technique), Abasolo unlock the deep flavours found within the corn. This process has never been used in whisky production, but is common-place in preparing corn as a food in Mexico.
This whisky has deep, nuanced notes of roasted corn, honey, vanilla, black tea, and leather. This unique flavour profile is only unlocked due to the nixtamalisation process. It ensures the Mexican ancestral corn provenance is honoured, and is unlike any other whisky profile.
Perfect Serve
To fully appreciate the unique flavours in this whisky we recommend drinking neat, with a single large ice cube. Garnish with a single slice of orange.
