Black Widow Tequila Cocktail

Created by Duggan McDonnell, a bartender in San Fransisco, this could be the perfect Halloween cocktail if you like a margarita.

It is a delicious combination of tequila, lime juice, agave nectar, fresh blackberries and basil leaves. Choose your favourite tequila blanco for the receipe as the dry, peppery, earthy profile of an unaged tequila, gives the cocktail a solid backbone and compliments the fresh blackberries and tart lime perfectly. 

Ingredients:

3 basil leaves

2 blackberries

45ml blanco tequila

30ml freshly squeezed lime juice.

1 teaspoon agave syrup

for garnish:

Fresh blackberry and a basil leaf.

Method:

Muddle the blackberries and basil leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add the tequila blanco, freshley squeezed lime juice, agave syrup and ice and shake well until chilled.Strain into a glass with fresh ice.

Garnish with a fresh blackberry and a basil leaf
