Espresso Martini Day

Espresso Martini

The Espresso Martini was created in the 1980's at Fred's Club in London by Dick Bradsell, a bartending guru and the creator of many modern classic cocktails we drink today. The story goes that a future supermodel walked into the bar and needed a pick-me-up. Her words were slightly more direct asking for someting to “wake me up and then f**k me up”.

The deliciously rich, indulgent and creamy combination of vodka, fresh coffee and coffee liqueur did the job and is now one of the World's favourite cocktails.

The receipe is simple but you have to be ready to shake - it's the key to the creamy foam top.

Ingredients:

50ml Vodka - Any good quality vodka will work, but we love this with Scapegrace Vodka

25ml Coffee liqueur - Tia Maria Cold Brew is a great choice

25ml Fresh espresso (hot)

Sugar Syrup to taste (optional)

3 coffee beans to garnish

Method:

Add all the ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker and get ready to shake long and hard - for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini or coup glass and place the coffee beans on top.
