Invented by Ivar Bryce (a friend of Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond novels) and named by James Bond in the 1953 novel Casino Royale.

It originally used Kina Lillet, which inclused quinine (hence the name), but using Lillet Blanc leaves this a little less bitter.

Ingredients:

45ml Plymouth Gin 

15ml Absolut 100 Vodka

7.5ml Lillet Blanc

To Garnish

Large, thin slice of lemon peel

Method:

Pour all the liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass, and garnish with a thin slice of lemon peel.
