Bloom London Dry Gin 70cl
A delightfully floral gin, with a touch of citrus and a delicately mild sweetness
Bloom London Dry Gin
Created by the award winning Master Distiller Joanne Moore in 2009, Bloom is a delicately light and smooth gin, which just oozes style from the iconic bottle to the gin itself. Joanne wanted to create a lighter gin to appeal to the new generation of gin drinkers..... in this, she definitely succeeded.
It is infused with a number of unique floral botanicals (sweet honeysuckle, and calming chamomile), as well as deliciously refreshing pomelo for a light fresh citrus note. These botanicals are carefully blended, none over-taking the other, which results in a delicate and balanced flavour.
It's distilled using a traditional copper pot still, and made using the finest spring water (which they demineralise). Whilst the gin is ever so slightly sweet (from the honeysuckle nectar, and pomelo), it's good to know that no sugar is added through the process. We certatinly wouldn't class it as a sweet gin.
Floral on the nose, these botanicals carry through onto the palate as the gin is tasted. Delicate pomelo notes also come through in the taste. Its this delightful, and pretty perfect combination, along with exquisite attention to detail which really gives Bloom its signature smoothness
As a classic G&T we would recommend serving this with a lighter tonic to allow the flavours in the gin to really come through, and as the gin already has a mild sweetness to it. In a large glass over ice, pour 50ml gin, and 200ml of tonic (we recommend Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Tonic Water). Garnish with sliced strawberries for colour, and to enhance the floral botanicals.
For something a little more celebratory and sweeter, try a French 75 cocktail. In a flute glass, pour 25ml gin, 25ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 10ml of Monin Sugar Syrup and top up the glass with Martini Prosecco (or even Champagne!)
