Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez
Carlos I is created by one of the oldest producers of wine and spirits in Spain (the Osborne Group), who have been producing award-winning drinks for over two centuries (being founded in 1772).
It's this history, and knowledge which ensures a quality product, and accolades from across the world. In fact in 2020 they were the Brandy Producer of the Year.
The Solera reference in the name is a process for fractional blending, and results in a finished brandy made from a mixture of ages.
The Brandy de Jerez is a PDO reference (Protected Designation of Origin), which tells that the Brandy has been matured exclusively within the "Sherry Triangle" (within specifc boundaries in the province of Cádiz in the very south of Spain.
It is a combination of the blending, area of maturation and the knowledge behind Carlos I which ensures this brandy continues to be enjoyed across the world.
Its deep amber colour gives an intensely aromatic aroma, with rich notes of vanilla and cocoa. On the palate its complex yet well balanced, with notes of sherry and raisins which are joined by chocolate, vanilla, almonds and a hint of coffee.

This is easily enjoyed in a rocks glass on its own at room temperature, or with a single large cube of ice.
To enhance the flavours, try adding a few drops of Angostura Bitters and a thin slice of orange peel.
