Del Professore Gin Monsieur 70cl
An expressive Italian gin, forward on the juniper with a citrus backdrop
Del Professore Gin Monsieur
The Del Professore gins are carefully crafted with a secret blend of herbs and spices. Using differing techniques, they ensure that they extract the most from each, without destroying them by using the wrong method. A combination of the distillation and infusion processes endows the gins with these unique aromatic and flavour characteristics.
Whilst all three of the Del Professore gins share an attractive amber hue, each has it's own individual personality and style.
With their first gin, Del Professore created a multi-faceted craft gin. Blending different herbs and spices, their botanical blend gives both power and softness. Del Professore set out to create a premium contemporary gin, with a lively floral characteristic, balanced by balsamic spicy notes and a little citrus.
The main botanicals in this gin, which give it its main flavours are: Juniper, angelica, chamomile, lavender, orange, and zedoaria (white turmeric).
The first aroma from this gin is one of cardamom, hinting at the spice in this gin. The juniper is also strong, and particularly expressive in this gin (if you're not a fan of classic, juniper forward gins, this isn't one for you!). There is a hint of lemon which is joined by a more delicate note of lavender. Towards the end there is a hint of vanilla in the finish along with a touch of citrus.

Best served with a neutral tonic, which allows the various 'quieter' botanicals in the gin to come through. We particularly liked this with Lobsters Tonic Water.
In a large copa glass filled with ice, add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150-200ml of the tonic, and stir gently. Garnish with a slice of orange and some juniper berries.
