Edinburgh (Scotland's Capital) has a strong naval heritage, and Edinburgh gin has paid homage to this with their Navy Strength gin.
Inspired by the famous One O'clock Gun (a cannon which is fired daily at 1pm), Edinburgh Cannonball Gin is a Navy Strength gin that lives up to its evocative name. It resurrects a historic style of gin commissioned by the British Navy, making this gin an homage to Edinburgh's seafaring past.
Being a Navy Strength gin, this packs a punch both in terms of flavour, but also the strength. This is bottled at 57.2% ABV, which makes it 100% proof. It's defined by a really serious and intense juniper hit, and Oriental spice.
It has twice the juniper content of the classic Edinburgh Gin, along with the addition of Szechuan peppercorns which add a spicy note. Zesty lemon and orange balance out the citrus profile, and bring the gin together.
It's unapologetically strong on the nose, with the juniper and spice hitting you. The taste is of course bold from the double juniper, but there's a kick of pepper and and touch of overall spiciness. This finishes off with spice lingering, which is freshened up with citrus notes.

Perfect Serve
Enjoy straight over ice for an authentic navy experience. For a G & T with a punch, serve 50ml of the gin with 150ml Fentimans Premium Indian Tonic Water. Garnish with a slice of lemon.
For something which really takes the strength of this gin to the next level, try a Cannonfire Cocktails. In a mixing glass, add a roughly chopped chilli. Add in 40ml of the gin, 20ml Campari Bitter, 15ml Monin Sugar Syrup, 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters and fill with ice, shake vigorously to really get the chilli flavour in, and chill the drink. Strain into a Martini glass, and garnish with a chilli.
