Jack Daniel's Tennessee Travellers Bold & Spicy Whiskey
Established by Jasper Newton Daniel (known as Jack to his friends) in 1866, the Jack Daniel's distillery was the first establised distillery in the USA. It's based in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Through this experience, of over 150 years, Jack Daniel's has won numerous awards (its first Gold Medal was at the St Louis World's fair in 1904), and become known the world over.
Their Tennessee Travellers releases are limited editions, and were created to honour Jack's desire to see the world. This is done by utilising different flavours found in the whiskeys in their Tennessee distillery.
Created with a higher alcohol content (107 proof / 53.5%), the flavours have been intensified. In their Bold and Spicy Whiskey the flavours are derived predominantly from spicy rye grain (with the mash comprising 70% rye, 12% barley and 18% corn).
The aroma entices with notes of caramel and warming baking spices. On the palate it's full of sweet soft fruits which overlay the rye spiciness and oak notes. The finish continues with peppery rye.

Perfect Serve
This is a really versatile whiskey, and can be enjoyed neat or in the mix.
One of the Jack Daniel's suggested mixes for this is a High Flying Highball. Take a large glass and add a couple of cubes of ice. Pour over 45ml of the whiskey, 15ml of fresh lime juice and 100ml of grapefruit soda. Stir gently and garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel.
