Jägermeister 1L
This German bitter sweet herbal liqueuer is now known all over the world
Description
Jägermeister
First created in Wolfenbüttel, Germany in 1878, Jägermeister (meaning hunt master) is now known the world over. Curt Mast (the creater) was a passionate hunter, so dedicated his creation to them.
The recipe, a secret blend of 56 ingredients, has remained unchanged since its creation. Whilst the exact recipe remains unknown to most, it has botanicals from across the world. Some that have been deduced are citrus peel, licorice, anise, poppy seeds, saffron, ginger, juniper berries, and ginseng.
It is a bittersweet herbal liqueur, and has a taste profile which has 5 distinct notes, sweet, bitter, fruity (citrus), spicy (earth), and herbal (aromatic). After creation, the liqueur is rested in German Oak barrels for up to a year to allow the full flavour profile to develop
Interesting fact... The stag depicted on the bottle is a reference to the legend of Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters.
