Description
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Pittyvaich Whisky
Whilst Jonnie Walker make a number of different whiskies, it's their Blue Label which is the rarest.
They class the Blue Label as their masterpiece, a combination of the rarest and most exceptional of Scotland's whiskies. With their Blue Label Ghost and Rare series, Johnnie Walker draw on casks which are from either closed distilleries, or very rare casks.
The fourth edition in the series is this, the Ghost & Rare Pittyvaich Whisky. This uses a core of rare single malts from the legendary Speyside distillery of Pittyvaich. This is definitely a hidden treasure in the whisky world, which closed its doors in 1993 after a short life of only 19 years.
On the nose this whisky opens with sweet apple notes, which join aromas of autumnal dried fruits. A touch of citrus and sweet honeycomb and wood come through.
The flavour is full of dark fruit and berries, enhancing the autumnal feel from the aroma. This is layered with vanilla, toffee and the honey found in the aroma. These flavours lead to a finish which has a sweetness from butterscotch, orchard fruits and a delicate hint of cinnamon.

Perfect Serve
As a rare bottle, we think this is perfect when enjoyed neat. However, it does open up a little with a splash of water or with ice - enjoy it however you like.
