Johnnie Walker Island Green Whisky
With their Island Green edition, Johnnie Walker have created a rare combination. It's creation was designed to showcase the Island malts more, in particular Caol Ila.
The flavour profile within this blend balances their four signature styles of malt whisky using only Single Malt Whiskies which are represented by Caol Ila, Clynelish, Glenkinchie and Cardhu. However, it is Caol Ila (a maritime malt whisky) which provides the greatest influence.
On the nose there are aromas of saltwater and black pepper, These mingle with tropical sweet vanilla as well as toffee and earthy sandalwood. On the palate there is an intense depth of flavour, full-bodied and has warming spice to it. There is a perfect balance between the fruity sweetness and the robust presence of smoke.
The finish is complex, and it lingers on the taste buds. It combines gentle peat smoke, with the sweet orchard fruits.
If you have tried the original Johnnie Walker Green label you will find this to be smokier, and a more intense version of the original.
