Junimperium Rhubarb Edition Gin
With their Rhubarb Edition, Junimperium have taking their artisinal distillery in Talinn, Estonia in a new direction.
They have blended cold-pressed rhubarb juice (which has a distinctive tartness) with a delicate honey tasting sweet orange flowers, and the world's best junipers.
These are complimented, and enhanced by coriander, angelica, lemon peel, cassia bark, vanilla and cardamom.
The result is a gin which has a delicious fruity, honey-like aroma. With the taste, you are reminded of the rhubarb component of the recipe, which helps give a really fresh and aromatic overall taste profile.
The finish ends with an ever so slight sweetness (again, almost honey-like), with an earthy touch from cassia bark.
Perfect Serve
This makes a deliciously gin & tonic, with a distinct rhubarb tartness complemented by beautiful honeyed taste of sweet orange flowers. We recommend making with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic water, so as to allow the rhubarb flavours to really come through.
Take 50ml of the gin, and pour into a large copa glass filled with ice. Add 160ml of the tonic, and garnish with a thin slice of orange.
