Marula Pomegranate Gin 50cl
The Marula fruit grows on the Marula Tree in Namibia which is also known as the Elephant Tree as the elephants like to eat the fruit. The fruit starts to ferment in their stomach, making the elephants drunk (actually, its not just the elephants, it's the monkey's and giraffes too).
Inspired by this phenomenon, a few Antwerp gin connoisseurs decided to bring this forbidden fruit to people. Now we can also enter and experience this new world of the marula. The journey is made more powerful by enhancing the fruit with hand picked botanicals such as juniper berries from Tuscany, lavender from Provence, rose petals from Bulgaria, coriander from India and orange blossom from Spain.
Made using the original Marula Gin as a base, the hero, pomegranate is added, along with raspberry, wild strawberry and blackberry. As with the original. Marula Pomegranate is triple distilled in small batches.
Marula Pomegranate is a sensual, mellow, accessible gin, with aromas from the red fruits and the strikingly sweet taste from the pomegranate. The soft pink colour is very inviting.
Serve Marula Pomegranate with lots of ice, Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic and garnish with fresh red berries.
For the cocktail lovers, try a 'King Louis'
Shake together 50ml of Marula Pomegranate Gin, 15ml of lemon juice and 120ml of Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. Garnish with fresh red berries.
Please, don't be like an elephant - drink responsibly!!
For those of us that love elephants ([email protected] is a big fan), by purchasing Marula Gin, you are helping these magnificent creatures. In return for using the forbidden fruit of the elephant tree, Marula Gin supports Elephant Whispers (a safe haven for elephants in Africa) by adopting elephants.
