Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac

At nearly 300 years old, Rémy Martin is one of the oldest producers of Cognac still in existence, having been founded in 1724.

The brand name itself comes from the founder, who was born in 1695. He was a vintner by trade, who started a cognac trading house in 1724.

The Rémy Martin cognacs all bear the Cognac Fine Champagne appellation (this means they are a blend of eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne crus - at least 50% of which are Grande Champagne). In VSOP the percentage of Grande Champagne is 55 percent.

Created in 1927, Rémy Martin VSOP is the biggest selling VSOP cognac in the world. It's distinct frosted bottle was first introduced in 1972.

On the nose this has a sweetened cereal aroma, with a touch of ripe berries. Grape, and a hint of olive also come through. On the palate the red berry notes come through as well, joined by vanilla and honey. Dried figs and banana blend with a hint of mild spice. The finish contines into a honeyes sweetness.

Perfect Serve

Whilst this is easily enjoyed on its own, it also works well in the mix - holding its flavours well within cocktails.
