Scapegrace Classic Gin 70cl
This gin from New Zealand is classically citrus and super smooth
Scapegrace Classic Gin
The first thing you notice about Scapegrace Classic Gin is the bottle. The bottle is deliberate. It's a modern take on the original Genever bottles from over 200 years ago.
If gin-makers from then were making gin today Scapegrace believe they would make it like they do, because they make it like they did... with a respect for the history. The bottle is a respectful acknowledgement to everything they taught them.
Scapegrace Gin is a classic gin with a citrus edge to it. Super smooth in taste, it has a Juniper lead which follows into touches of cardamom and cinnamon giving it a lightly spiced edge. The citrus then comes through, with lemon and orange peel which brings a zesty flavour and freshness to the gin.

As this gin is really smooth it can quite easily be drunk neat.
We love this with both East Imperial Tonic Water, which heightens the spices in the gin, or East Imperial Grapefruit Tonic, which brings the citrus side of the gin further forward.
With either of these, take a large glass filled with ice and pour over 50ml of the gin. Slowly add 150ml of the tonic, and stir gently. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
