According to Villa Massa, it is the fact that they use only 'real, authentic Sicilian Almonds' which makes this liqueur extra special. They combine this delicious ingredient with centuries of tradition to ensure something truly special is created.
Enjoying warm weather year round, as well as fertile volcanic soils, Siciliy has the perfect conditions to grow Almonds. Sicilian Almonds are characterised by a thick, woody shell, which protects the nut inside which has the intense taste and aroma.
Using these almonds, Villa Massa gently grind them before infusing in alcohol and water. After just the right amount of time (which is known by the experience the producers have), the liquid is filtered and bottled in the typical Villa Massa glass bottle.
The result is a liqueur with a vivid copper coloured liquid, transparent and with a pearly hint. The aroma is full of intense almonds, a touch of bitterness and easily reminds of marzipan. The flavour is deliciously sweet, smooth, and is full of marzipan flavours. The intense flavour ends with hints of vanilla, cherries and cocoa.
