    Tanqueray Gin

Since 2016 Tanqueray has been the bestselling gin in the world, and for good reason! It has great provenance, being first distilled in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray & co in the Bloomsbury area of London. This same recipe is still used and celebrated the world over to this day.

Whilst initially produced in London, it is now made in Scotland and is owned by Diageo plc.

With this pack you can chose 3 Tanqueray gins. Mix and match is possible.

Tanqueray London Dry Gin - 43.1%

A true London Dry gin (which refers to the distillation process), it is double distilled using only grain spirit and has a secret blend of botanicals added during the second distillation process. Not all of these are known obviously (otherwise it wouldn't be much of a secret...), but it does contain four of the "common" gin botanicals, namely: Juniper (a must have in gin!), Coriander, Angelica Root and Liquorice. All of these are clear and crisp in the taste, but none too overpowering.

This makes it a truly classic gin, but with a definite edge which has ensured it keeps its top selling place in the world!

    Tanqueray Rangpur Gin - 41.3%

The rare Rangpur lime is an ingenious choice to bring a distinct and bold flavour to this variation of Tanqueray, their Rangpur edition. It has the zestiness of lime and the juiciness of mandarin orange, bringing a whole new citrus experience to the drinker.

First produced in 2006, this variation has won numerous awards for its interesting flavour profile. It has a fresh taste, which is alightly surprising with the main flavour being orange, and top notes of lime. These merge perfectly with background notes of liquorice, ginger and a hint of bay leaves.

Interesting fact.... the Rangpur lime is a hybrid cross of the Mandarin Orange, and the Citron (one of the original citrus fruits). It has orange flesh and peel, and a sour flavour (similar to lime).

Tanqueray Flor De Seville - 41.3%

This is a truly unique distilled gin made with Sevilla orange essences and other fine botanicals. The result is a beautifully light orange hued gin, which looks refreshing even before the bottle is opened!

Inspired by Charles Tanqueray's original recipes and the ripening oranges growing on the trees in sun-drenched Seville (Spain), the result is a perfect balance of the uniquely bittersweet taste of Seville oranges balanced with the complexity of Tanqueray London Dry Gin.

Straight upon opening the bottle, hints of sweet orange and liquorice greet you. As this is quadruple distilled, the taste is decidedly softer than most citrus gins, which makes a refreshing change. It is a true gin, not overly sweet and as such you can make out the distinct flavours found in Tanqueray (coriander, angelica, liquorice and juniper berries) as well as a nice citrusy orange note.

Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale Gin - 41.3%

The inspiration behind this variant was Charles Tanqueray's journeys to France. It features four of Tanqueray's classic botanicals, along with juicy French blackcurrants, vanilla, and black orchid.

There is no mistaking that this gin has a clear focus on blackcurrant. The four classic Tanqueray botanicals meet with the blackcurrant to give a complex and highly fruity nose. This aroma of juicy, ripe blackcurrants meets with a subtle sweetness and ends with a delicate note of vanilla.

The flavour is exquisite, and bursting with berry notes, balanced by the floral elements of the black orchid. It continues with a creamy richness from the vanilla and has a delicate herbaceous spice. This, along with noble purple colour, helps explain the royale part of the name.
