Chartreuse Yellow Liqueur 70cl
Introduced to the world in 1840, this liqueur is milder and sweeter than its brother the famous Green Chartreuse
Description
Chartreuse Yellow Liqueur
Made using only neutral alcohol, sugar, and a secret blend of 130 botanicals (plants and flowers), Yellow Chartreuse has been enjoyed the world over since 1840.
It is still bottled in the traditional Chartruse liqueur bottle, which is embossed with the seal of La Grande Chartruse. The colour is entirely natural, derived from the botanicals used to make it. There are no artificial flavours or preservatives atall.
At any one time, only two Chartruse monks know the identity of the 130 botanicals. The secret of how to blend, and distill is preserved and passed on when needed. It is these two who know which plants to macerate, how to ensure the correct colour, and only they who supervise the slow ageing in oak casks.
The Yellow Chartruse is milder and sweeter than the famous Green Chartreuse at 40% abv. The aroma is bright, and lime sweet, although the flavor is far more herbal. It has hints of mint and anise, with a distinct liquorice finish and the kick of alcohol. It's thick, syrupy and coats the tongue.
Perfect Serve
To bring out all its flavour, it should be consumed very cold, or preferably on the rocks.
Traditionally considered an after dinner drink, Chartreuse is more and more being enjoyed as a long drink. Mix with a neutral tonic (such as Fentimans Botanical Tonic Water) and serve over ice.
