Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Californian Orange Citrus
This gin is created at the edge of a lake, in a small Irish town called Drumshanbo (which also gives the gin it's name). It's here that you will find The Shed Distillery.
They product gins which are far from ordinary, slow-distilling their gin using some of natures finest oriental botanicals, along with gunpowder tea. These are all inspired by the journeys which PJ Rigney have taken around the work. Each of the Drumshanbo gins take particular inspiration from one particular area.
During one of his many adventures, PJ Rigney visited the sun-blessed west coast of the USA. He visited the San Francisco Bay area, where he was introduced to the delicious Californian Orange Citrus fruits found there. He immediately realised these would blend perfecly with the existing exotic citrus in the classic Drumshanbo gin - giving a bright and colourful burst of fresh Californian citrus, and creating a whole new gin.
Whilst this uses the original Drumshanbo as a base, it has a distinct, and delicious quality unique to itself. Unsurprisingly the rich ripe orange flavours join with the peppery juniper at its core. However these are joined and balanced with warm vanilla and coriander.
We found this to be a delicious citrus rich addition to the Drumshanbo range.

Perfect Serve
This, like the original, is best served simply to ensure the gin itself is fully appreciated.
Take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin, and add 150 - 200ml of a premium neutral tonic (we like Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic). Stir gently and garnish with a slice or two of orange.
If you want to really enhance the citrus, try using Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic.
