Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin
Pronounced "O, Peer", this gin is a true journey down the spice routes of old, using spices which would have come to Europe from the orient.
Using exotic hand-picked botanicals, which have been carefully chosen by Opihr's Master Distiller, they make their way to their final destination, the oldest distillery in England. Here, they are distilled using the London Dry method. (A method used in the distillery since 1761).

The aroma of Opihr is intense with cardamom and ginger coming through strongly, with notes of toasted cumin seed and curry powder underneath. A real festival of spices on the nose.
As for the taste, when sipped it’s heart comes out - showing a traditional gin with juniper, coriander and citrus note. The initial flavour comes through with coriander and cardamom, then the piney juniper tastte. It ends peppery with black pepper, cubeb and coriander.
The finish leaves a warmth in the mouth with hints of the coriander and ginger. It lingers, pleasantly leaving the palate with a clean, almost menthol coolness.

Perfect Serve
This truly is a gin made for those who enjoy spicy notes. It can overpower a lot of cocktails, forcing other components to the rear. We enjoy this either sipped slowly over plenty of ice, or with a mixer as alonger drink. Both tonic or ginger ale both work well (we love Double Dutch with Opihr). With either, in a long glass filled with ice add 50ml of the gin and then top up with 150 - 200ml of your mixer of choice. For a garnish, try a slice of orange.
