Nginious! Vermouth Cask Finish Gin
The story of nginious! started in 2014, when Iris and Oliver Ullrich launched the brand in Switzerland. They quickly gained an international reputation as a brand which created new and innovative flavours as well as honest gins. Since then, they have expanded into liqueurs and other drinks.
To create nginious! Vermouth Cask Finished Gin, their own Swiss Blended Gin is used as the base. This is then allowed to mature in former vermouth casks for 5 months.
As this uses the Swiss Blend Gin as a base, the blend of 18 different botanicals remains the same; Juniper, barberry, laurel fruit, citrus and sweet orange peel, fresh grapefruit, cardamom, hay flower, clover blossoms, bee balm, verbena, hyssop, chamomile, black currant leaves, orris root, carline thistle root, galangal, liquorice.
The maturation in the vermouth casks enhances the classic herbal profile found in the original swiss blend. Floral herbal notes join with the citrus from the botanicals. These are then delicately enhanced with notes of bitter orange and oriental spices from the cask.

Perfect Serve
We liked this enjoyed pure over ice, and slowly sipped. However it also works in a more classic gin & tonic.
Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of tonic (we like a neutral tonic such as Three Cents Tonic Water) and stir gently. Garnish with a slice or two or orange.
