Mombasa Club Strawberry Edition Gin
Inspired by the traditions of gin drinking in the British Empire, Mombasa Club was named after a famous private social club that was founded in 1885. They imported gin from England to the island of Zanzibar for their members to enjoy.
To ensure a smooth gin, the base is a classic london dry gin which has been triple-distilled. This base is then carefully infused with ripe spanish strawberries and other red fruits.
On the nose this is most definitely a strawberry gin, with this being the dominant aroma. It has a back note of juniper to it, reminding this started life as a classic london dry gin.
On the palate this is a sweet and juicy gin. There is however a pefect balance between the sweetness from the fruits and an acidity which ensures this isn't overly sweet. Towards the end the juniper makes itself known along with a hint of liquorice.
The delicate pink colour of this gin definitely denote the primary flavours of strawberries and red fruits found in this gin.

Perfect Serve
Whilst this is a delicious gin which can easily be enjoyed the whole year - the strong strawberry flavours particularly make this perfect for a sweet, fruity and refreshing summer gin & tonic.
Take a large copa glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your favourite tonic and stir gently. (We like this with Fever-Tree Premium Indian Tonic, but for a sweeter drink try with their elderflower tonic which also works well). Garnish with a sliced strawberry or two.
