It started as a family dream in Cuba, back in the 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardí Massó founded BACARDI. He bought a small distillery in Santiago de Cuba and this is where he radically changed the way rum was typically produced, making spirits that were smooth and light bodied. Today, BACARDI is an iconic worldwide brand with production sites across the globe, and with a wide and varied choice of tasty spirits.
Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez Extra Rare Gold Rum is a luxurious rum that is definitely worth waiting for. This delicious rum has been expertly blended and then barrel-aged for a minumum of 10 years under the tropical Caribbean sun. When ready, it is filtered through charcoal which produces a velvety smooth finish.
On the nose, there are bright notes of peach with the sweet nuttiness of almond. On the palate, are the fruity flavours of banana, pear and melon, balanced with caramelised vanilla and oak from the barrel. The finish has hints of pineapple and a little spice from cinnamon.
