Description
Caorunn Scottish Raspberry Gin
Carefully handcrafted in the Scottish Highlands, Caorunn Scottish Raspberry gin starts the same was as the original Caorunn Gin. They expertly infuse five locally foraged botanicals, along with six traditional gin botanicals - before adding a blast of tart fruitiness from refreshing Perthshire Raspberries
Interesting fact.... Caorunn, (pronounced ‘ka-roon'), is the Gaelic word for Rowan Berry – a Celtic botanical that forms the very soul of this gin.
It retains its artisanal qualities - and is still created in small batches, beautifully mixing the rugged charm of Speyside with the urban sophistication of modern day Scotland.
As with the original - the locally foraged botanicals give the gin a sense of location. These are rowan berry which gives a piquant flavour - and whilst raspberry adds additional fruitiness, this is still the soul of the gin; bog myrtle giving a soft sweet aroma; heather, which is synonymous with Scotland, gives a subtle undertone to the aroma, and gives a delicate honey sweetness; Coul Blush apple, which adds further clean and crisp sweetness, dandelion leaf which lends a touch of sharpness - lastly, the Perthshire Raspberries. .
Joining these are the more traditional botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, orange and lemon peel, angelica root and cassia bark
On the nose there is an initial hit of raspberry fruitiness as you would expect, which is joined by a lingering vanilla softness. Whilst the original Caorunn is slightly spicy on the palate - this is definitely fruity, with raspberry and the tartness of the rowan to the fore. It still maintains it's invigorating dryness, which is clasically Caorunn, but it is enhanced by the natural raspberry sweetness.
It finishes leaving the palate bright and clean, with a freshness lingering in the finish.

Perfect Serve
The fruity flavours in this gin deserve to be noticed, and enjoyed, so we recommend a neutral tonic such as Three Cents Tonic Water. Pour 50ml of the gin and 100 - 150ml of the tonic in a glass over ice, stir gently and garnish with the classic red apple slices as well as a few raspberries.
