Harahorn Orange Dry Gin

As with the other gins in the family, Harahorn is named after a Norwegian mountain in Hemsedal, which in itself is named after a fabulous (and perhaps mythical) animal, a hare with a moose horn. It should also be noted that no-one has yet seen it..... but the gin you certainly can!

Their Orange Dry gin is a strictly limited edition from Det Norske Brenneri. For 2022, for the whole of the world they created only 2,022 bottles of this perfectly flavoured gin. So, if you're a fan of Harahorn, and like Orange - grab a bottle whilst you can.

This is definitely a citrus forward gin, with the citrus notes coming from (in this order), Orange, Lemon and Lime. Orange is definitely the citrus flavour which is most pronounced though, so much so that it lends its name to the gin too.

However, there is more to this gin too - with a great complexity of flavours. Their master distiller Jon Bertelsen has worked hard with this gin, really creating something to be savoured. A hint of rhubarb rounds out the citrus notes, lending a depth of flavour and a delicious freshness. 

But theres more depth still. Caraway, pepper, a touch of pine fromn juniper and then cinnamon (which always works well with Orange) come through.

Whilst these flavours all lend to the gin its the Orange that stands proud, remaining right through to the end, with just a touch of cinnamon left on the palate too.

Perfect Serve

We recommend to drink with Three Cents Tonic Water (this tonic is very neutral, so doesn't overpower the flavours in the gin). In a large glass filled with ice, add 50ml of gin to 200ml of tonic. Garnish with a slice of orange and maybe a stick of cinnamon to really bring out the flavours.

If you want to enhance the orange flavours, try with Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic. This has additional orange zestiness which adds perfectly to this gin.
