Havana Club Añejo Especial Rum 70cl
A double aging process gives this rum a delicious depth and intensity of flavours
Description
Havana Club Añejo Especial Rum
Havana Club hails from Cuba and is a representation of the island’s rich heritage. Rum is an essential part of the Cuban culture and the Maestros del Ron Cubano make Havana Club following traditional Cuban rum making methods. An aspiring Maetro will spend 15 years training under the supervision of the senior Maestro del Ron Cubano to become a true master of their craft. Its not something you can learn from books, it's ‘’a cultural heritage, passed on from Maestro to Maestro’’
Havana Club use what nature gave to Cuba, ‘the isle of rum’. The rich sugar cane, fertile soil and the tropical climate is what makes their rum so special, and what makes it difficult to replicate the distinctive taste outside of Cuba.
To create their Añejo Especial Rum, Havana Club's Maestros del Ron Cubano take their time - and age it twice. They first rest it in old oak barrels, which gives a distinct and aromatic intensity. To ensure the smoothness of the rum, the second aging is done in younger ex-whiskey casks. This process gives a light sweetness with defined vanilla notes, joined by hints of cinnamon, tobacco, zesty orange, and dry oak. This is a rum which is perfectly balanced and well-rounded.

Perfect Serve
This is a rum which is smooth and delicious enjoyed neat, or simply over ice. However its aromatic complexity brings a depth of flavour to the simple and refreshing Cuba Libre rum cocktail.
To make one yourself, take a highball glass and fill with ice cubes. Add 50ml of the rum and 100ml of your favourite cola (we like Fentimans Curiosity Cola, but any premium cola will work). Squeeze a wedge of lime into the glass, stir gently and garnish with a new wedge of lime. Enjoy!
