Jinzu Gin
In 2013 British Bartender Dee Davies won the Diageo 'Show your Spirit' competition. This competition aimed to build on the experience bartenders have by unlocking their creativity and experience - and, along with Diageo's experience the prize was co-creating a new and innovative product.
Fun fact: The Jinzu bottle captures the gin's unique and adventurous spirit. The lapanese mejiro bird on the bottle, holding the iconic British umbrella over the Jinzu word, expressing the idea that this gin has its 'head in Britain and its heart in Japan'.
Inspired by Dee's journey to Japan, and a lifelong passion for flavour, Jinzu Gin was born! This is a classically British gin, but with a delightful Japanese twist to it.
Classic Gin flavours (juniper, coriander and angelica root) are married with cherry blossom and yuzu citrus to create something unique. A touch of distilled sake is also added, which gives a smooth and creamy finish. There is also a truly luxurious creamy mouthfeel, and a delicate, subtle sweetness.
This truly is a perfect marriage of British and Japanese flavours and experience in distilling.
Perfect Serve
This works best as a classic gin & tonic. Take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and 150 - 200ml of a neutral tonic (we liked Thomas Henry Tonic Water). Stir gently and garnish with a slice of green apple.
