Zwart Nazareth Korenwijn
The making of Dutch spirits definitely runs in the family, and in 1776 brothers Casper and Coenraad Kramers opened the Distilleerderij Gebr. Kramers, producing old Jenever for the brands of Hazewind, De Roos and De weg. Not only great at making spirits, they were also sucessful traders of coffee, tobacco and cigars. After nearly 200 years the distillery was closed but the flame was kept alive as the family stories continued and the recipe safeguarded, ready for the next generation. In 2020 Peter and Jeroen Kramers re-established the Gebr. Kramers becoming the 9th generation in charge and the family recipe was passed to them. The modern variant of the original spirit was developed and ZWART NAZARETH® was born.
Zwart Nazareth Korenwijn is the second of the 3 spirits released so far and followed the success of their Oude Graanjenever.
Korenwijn (corn wine), is often compared to malt whisky and is made from rye, corn and malted barley. It has the perfect balance of flavours, with not only the flavours from the grains, but a distinct oak wood taste, which remains soft on the palate.
