Description
Tarquin’s “The Seadog” Navy Gin
Tarquin took the plunge in 2012, and from a disatisfaction with city life, moved back to Cornwall (SW UK), and decided to start the first Cornish distillery in over 100 years.
Having many accolades in their portfolio (including "the World's best gin" from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2017) Tarquin's have continued to produce spectacular gins.
Taking inspiration from the wild northern coastline of Cornwall and the Atlantic beyond, Tarquin's have created a Navy gin - their Seadog Navy Gin. The higher alcohol content ensures a robust gin which is packed full of flavour.
On the nose there is a fresh bold juniper aroma which is joined by cracked black pepper and a hint of candied citrus.
The higher abv ensures it coats the mouth well imparting its flavours. There is a creaminess with robust piney juniper, orange blossoms and a gentle spice from cardamom which develops into a light note of frangipane. The finish remains crisp and clean - with refreshing citrus zest and eastern spices lingering.

Perfect Serve
This works exceptionally well in a classic gin & tonic with a neutral tonic such as Fentimans Connoiseurs Tonic Water.
In a large copa glass filled with plenty of ice, add 50 ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic, and stir gently. Garnish with slice of orange and a sprig of (fresh) rosemary.
