Abstinence Aperitif Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange
With a desire to create a range of complex, sophisticated, and most importantly delicious non-alcoholic drinks, Abstinence have taken inspiration from the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom. This is a biodiverse region in the Western Cape of South Africa. Whilst it might be the smallest biological kingdom, its one of the most diverse in the world.
For their Aperitif, Abstinence wanted to create the perfect drink for enjoying on its own, in a spritz, or for creating perfect low alcohol cocktails.
The flavours come entirely from the botanical ingredients, and contain no added sugar, sweeteners or flavourings. Everything is natural, and from the Cape.
The key botanicals in this drink are African Wormwood, Cinchona Bark, All Spice, Clove, Blood Orange and Spice Distillate.
This ensures a flavour which is reminiscent of Italian-style bitters, and has a dominant citrus note from the blood orange. This blends with the natural botanicals and spices, along with the African Wormwood, which gives a distinct mouth-watering, bittersweet mouthfeel.

Perfect Serve
This can easily replace a classic aperitif, or bitter (such as Campari) in any of your cocktails. It's also delicious enjoyed on its own
For a no-guilt spiritz, take a large Gin or Wine glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the aperitif. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of either Soda or Tonic Water. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
