Brouwerij Verhofstede Edelweiss Noten Likeur
The history of Brouwerij Verhofstede dates back to 1885, and Stefanie De Jaegher (who later married Julien Verhofstede). Initially Beer was brewed, but in the 1960's a move into spirits occured. Now with over 130 years of experience, and four generations of the same family they continue to create a range of delicious drinks.
In creating their dark brown, flavourful noten (nut) liqueur, Brouwerij Verhofstede use only fresh unripened walnuts. This is made only once a year, and the process is completed in a single day.
When initially produced, the liqueur has a greenish hue to it. However, it is aged which results in a darkening of the liqueur, and the delicious nutty taste is developed.

However, try using it in deserts as well - its equally delicious when a little is poured over vanilla ice-cream.
