Buss No. 509 Raspberry Gin (Mini) 4cl
Infused with fresh raspberries, this is a deliciously fruity gin with a distinctive colour
Description
Buss No. 509 Raspberry Gin
Whilst the look of this gin might hint at a super-sweet tipple, this definitely isn't the case. Whilst it is the sweetest of the Buss Spirits family of gin's, it has a delicate sweetness which comes from the ingredients. There are no added sugars, dyes or flavours.
This gin has an intruiging aroma. It has a herbaceous botanical hint to start - not necessarily what you would expect from the name and look of the gin. This follows into a mixture of floral/fruity and then the Juniper greets you as well.
The botanicals used in this gin are juniper, coriander, liquorice, angelica, vanilla, cardamom, iris, orange, lemon and of course raspberry.
The taste of the gin is really interesting... Again, the eyes lead you to expect something exceptionally fruity and perhaps sweet. There are definite tart, almost citrus berry flavours from the raspberry (as the name would suggest) but also, notes of cucumber which refresh the palate. There is a hint of sweetness in the background, but with a definite "classic" gin note which runs through the drink. It's definitely not a highly sweetened and flavoured gin. A touch of heat from garden herbs lingers through, and the finish is dry.

Perfect Serve
This works exceptionally well with a lemon tonic, or a more classic gin and tonic with an Indian Tonic water. For either, take a large copa glass and fill with ice. Pour over 50ml of the gin, and top up with 150 - 200ml of your preferred tonic. Garnish with a slice of lemon, and a couple of fresh (or frozen) raspberries.
