Description
Edinburgh Gin The Classic
Launching with their classic gin in 2010, Edinburgh gin started by creating a classic London Dry gin. However, being made in their West End and Leith distilleries in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK), they ensure a nod to their location and heritage and used native botanicals in the recipe.
The recipe is a carefully selected blend of fourteen botanicals, which include lavender, pine buds, mulberries and cobnuts. However, it is the orange peel, lemongrass and lime peel which contribute really lively citrus notes which makes this a really refreshing drink.
When opening the bottle you're greeted with a clean, fresh typically gin smell, with a touch of spice. However, its when you drink this that it really comes to the front of the gin category. The juniper is present, and a definite predominant taste, but it mixes with floral notes from lavender, as well as a soft spiciness, and aromatic citrus. The finish is what takes you right through to the end of the drink though, closing really smooth.
Overall, it's a really delicious crisp gin with a definite smooth finish.

Perfect Serve
This makes a deliciously refreshing G&T. In a large glass filled with ice, mix 50ml of the gin with 150ml of Tonic. Finish the drink off by garnishing with a twist or slice of orange peel.
It also works really well in a number of gin cocktails, such as Martini's, Negroni's and Gimlets.
