Between the Sheets

A derivative of the Sidecar Cocktail, the history of this cocktail goes back to the 1930's, and Harry's New Yorn Bar in Paris.

An alternative theory suggests that this could have been enjoyed in French Brothel's as an aperitif for consumption by the prostitues.

Whatever the origin, this is one of my favourite cocktails, as I'm very partial to orange flavour in cocktailks. This has real depth and character and is my ideal of a perfect (rather strong) cocktail.

Ingredients:

30ml White Rum (We like with Mates White Rum)

30ml Cognac  (Hennessy works well)

30ml Cointreau (or Triple Sec)

20ml Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice

for garnish:

A twist of Lemon Zest

Method:

Take a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and add the above ingredients. Shake well, and strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
