Blue Moon
Whilst the Aviation cocktail is well known all around the world, its success has meant a number of variations have been created too.
One of these in the Blue Moon, which is an eye-catching and delicious floral cocktail.
Whilst the Aviation only has a slight colour to it, the Blue Moon has a vibrant purple colour to it from the larger quantity of Crème de Violette (which also adds sweet floral notes).
The floral notes of the liqueur pair really well with the juniper led gin - and the lemon juice ensure the sweetness isn't too overpowering.
Interesting Fact: A 'Blue Moon' is an astronomical term for the second full moon which occurs within the same calendar month
This is really a delicious cocktail - and certainly not one which should only be drunk 'once in a blue moon'!
