Mates XO Rum
Mates started its journey here in The Netherlands in 2019 when Bart and two of his Mates officially registered Mates Spirits and blended their first 3000 bottles of Mates Gold Rum. Following the sucess of their original rum, the Mates range has expanded in 2023 with the launch of Mates White Rum and Mates XO Rum.
The Caribbean meets South America in Mates XO Rum. The combination of 2 fantastic 8-year-old rums from Barbados and the Dominican Republic have been blended together with Mates 5-8 year old rum from Nicaragua. Each of the countries are well known for their rum making and unique traditions, and together the result is rum that is deliciously soft with a well rounded taste. The natural sweetness comes from using ex-boubon casks, made of oak.

Good to know.... Mates care about the environment. Their glass bottle is 35% lighter than the original, which means less CO2 emissions per bottle during manufacturing and also throughout the entire supply chain

Perfect Serve
The buttery taste of Mates XO Rum makes it perfect to be sipped neat or on the rocks.
Aged rum is great in cocktail, especially a Rum Old Fashioned. Add ice to a glass, pour in 50ml Mates XO Rum, 2 drops of Angostura bitters, a drop of Angostura orange bitters and 10ml sugar syrup. Stir with a barspoon and add a twist of orange peel to garnish.
