With the expertise of a family of craft distillers behind it, Le Gin promised a gin for connoisseurs, and with its multiple awards, it certainly delivered.
Now, Christian Drouin have taken a limited quantity of their multi-award winning gin, Le Gin de Christian Drouin and aged it for a year in 225 litre Calvados casks. The result is rounder and more complex, and has an increase in the delicious apple flavours. Truly something spectacular
As they use the same gin, the 8 botanicals of juniper, Brazillian ginger, Madagascan vanilla, lemon, cardamom, indonesian cinnamon, almonds and rose are still used.
The cider alcohol spirit base used in its creation gives this gin a roundness, crispness and delicacy. The rose and lemon assist with the delicate profile of the gin, whilst the ginger, vanilla, cinnamon and almond give a smooth yet spicy body. The cardamom gives a roundness in the mouth, and together the juniper and apple compliment one another with heavy high notes of crisp pine.
Resting in the barrels gives the gin a rounder and more complex flavour profile, and has an increase in the delicious apple flavours. Truly something spectacular from Christian Drouin

Perfect Serve
As with the original Le Gin, the complexity and depth of this gin ensure it can easily be enjoyed neat, or over ice - and we'd truly encourage this with this limited edition version.
However, it still works exceptionally well in a gin and tonic, and again we like this with Double Dutch Indian Tonic.
In a large glass filled with ice, add 50ml of the gin and top up with 150 - 200ml of the tonic. Garnish with a couple of thin slices of fresh green apple.
